Jakarta, 4 October 2023 - Gojek, the On-Demand Service division of PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk. (GoTo Group, BEI: GOTO), has officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Lion Mentari Airlines (Lion Group) to enhance the mobility experience for users of affiliated airlines within the Lion Group network (Lion Air, Wings Air, Batik Air and Super Air Jet), with a particular focus on facilitating access to Gojek's GoCar and other mobility solutions.
The MoU was signed by Catherine Hindra Sutjahyo, Director and President of On-Demand Services, GoTo Group and Captain Daniel Putut, President Director of Lion Group, and witnessed by Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia and Patrick Walujo, CEO of GoTo Group.
The MoU signing was carried out at the Hub Space X KAI Expo 2023 event organized by the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia in commemoration of the 2023 National Transportation Day (Harhubnas), Jakarta Convention Center, September 29, 2023.
The collaboration is part of Gojek's strategic initiative to enhance the ease of mobility for passengers while providing access to cost-effective mobility services to and from airports.
The partnership is anticipated to cater to the growing public interest and demand for GoCar at airports as GoCar Instant Airport services has experienced a fivefold increase at Soekarno Hatta Airport in 2023, compared to its initial launch in 2019.
The collaboration also furthers the GoTo Group key strategy to expand market reach by delivering added value to consumers. The accessibility of Gojek services across the Indonesian archipelago, combined with Lion Group's extensive domestic flight network, will significantly streamline people's mobility options. According to the September 2023 Official Airline Guide (OAG) report, Lion Air is the busiest airline in the Southeast Asia region, handling almost 3 million passengers every month.
