Similar to motorcycle and car, application also requires updates for optimal support to your activity. It’s very important for you to know that starting July 20th, 2022 Android version 5.0 & 5.1 can no longer support the use of GoPartner App on your mobile. 

If you're still on Android 5.0 and 5.1 on July 20, you'll see the following screen

However, worry not, because there are several solutions you can do to overcome this.

1. Updating Android Operating System (OS) 

Operating system (OS) updates can be done if your mobile phone supports the upgrade (upgrade) to Android 6 (Marshmallow) and above. Firstly, you must prepare the following things:

• Sufficient internet quota.
• Stable internet connection & network.
• Sufficient storage memory.
• The percentage of the battery is full in order to "stand by".
• Prepare additional software or applications if necessary.

How to Upgrade Android Version

a. Via Push Notification 

If the Driver's phone supports updates, usually the Driver will receive an update notification automatically. Click directly on the notification to perform the update.

b. Via Mobile Settings

1. Go to ‘Settings’. 
2. Click ‘About Phone’. 

3. Click ‘System Update’.

4. If an update is available, click 'Update'.

5. Wait until the upgrade process is complete.

6. Your phone will restart automatically and you're done!

c. Via Computer (PC)/Laptop

If the upgrade process via handphone continues to fail, you can try upgrading using a PC or laptop. Follow the steps below:

1. Go to the official handphone website.
2. Go to the 'Support and Download' page.
3. Download official software/device management depending on the brand of Android phone you are using, for example, Samsung phones use Kies, Motorola uses MDM, Sony uses Xperia Companion, and various other types of handphones. 
4. Open the special software for your handphone. 
5. Connect the handphone to the computer using the original USB.
6. Open the software on the computer and look for the 'Update' button.
7. Click 'Update' to start the Android version update process.
8. Wait for the update process to complete.

2. Checking Mobile Devices

If you've done some of the things above but still can't upgrade to the Android 6 version and above, it indicates that your mobile device doesn't support using or updating to the operating system. You can login using another Android mobile device that supports the use of version 6 and above. Here's how to check the current OS version on your phone:

1. Go to the ‘Settings’ Menu. 
2. Select ‘About Phone’. 
3. See ‘Android Version’.

Q: I've upgraded to an Android version above 6, but why is my GoPartner app still not updated to the latest version?

A: To get the latest version of the GoPartner application, you can go to Google Play Store, then search or search using the keyword 'GoPartner' to download the application. Remember, you must use the official Gojek application to avoid data misuse and other unwanted things.

Q: If my handphone can't upgrade to Android version 6 and above, can I go to a cellphone service center?

A: Usually each mobile device has a maximum capacity of different operating systems. There are some handphones that do not support upgrading to version 6 and above, so it does not allow you to upgrade to a certain version even if you have gone to a cellphone service center.

Q: Will I be penalized if I don't upgrade the operating system (OS)? 

A: No, this will only affect the application which can prevent you from going online and getting the orders. You can access the app if you have upgraded the OS or logged in on another mobile device with OS 6 and above.
