Opt in now for easier tax filing
Gojek and IRAS are working together again to make tax filing easier for you by pre-filling your driving income into your Income Tax Return. All you have to do is to provide your consent by opting-in to the Pre-filling of Income Initiative by 24 January 2025.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Driver-partners are responsible for their own tax affairs and must ensure that the information in their Income Tax Return are accurate and complete. Where necessary, driver-partners may amend the pre-filled information.

Why join the Pre-filling of Income Initiative?
More information below.
What is Pre-filling of Income and how does it work?
Pre-filling of Income is an initiative by IRAS to simplify the tax filing and ease compliance burden for self-employed persons (SEPs) such as private hire vehicle drivers. Under this initiative, Gojek will transmit the income (earned from driving with Gojek) of driver-partners, who have opted in, to IRAS. These driver-partners can thus enjoy the convenience of having their driving income information pre-filled by IRAS in their Income Tax Returns. For more details on the Pre-filling of Income initiative for SEPs, please visit IRAS’ website.

If I opt-in, what information will Gojek provide to IRAS?
We will share the following details:
What is FEDR and how does it work?
Qualifying driver-partners whose income has been pre-filled under the pre-filling of income initiative will automatically be allowed the FEDR against their pre-filled income.
The example below illustrates the application of FEDR for driving income.
Example of 60% FEDR | S$ |
Gross Trip Fares | 80,000 |
Add: Incentives / Misc Payments | 20,000 |
Total Driving Income | 100,000 |
Less: 60% FEDR (i.e. 60% x 100,000) | (60,000) |
Net Driving Income | 40,000 |
If your allowable business expenses are more than 60% of your pre-filled income, you may choose to claim the actual allowable business expenses incurred in earning your income when filing your Income Tax Return.
If you have additional income to declare, please also include them in your Income Tax Return.
For more details on the Pre-filling of Income initiative for SEPs, please visit IRAS’ website.
If I choose not to opt-in, will I still need to declare my earnings to IRAS?
Yes, you are required to declare your income in your Income Tax Return. To enjoy simplified tax filing, you are encouraged to opt-in for the Pre-filling of Income initiative so that your driving income information can be pre-filled in your Income Tax Return.
If I choose not to opt-in, will I still be entitled to claim 60% FEDR of my total driving income as deemed expenses?
Yes, you will still be entitled to claim deduction based on 60% FEDR of your gross annual driving income. The 60% FEDR will be automatically calculated when you select “Taxi\Private Hire Car Drivers” as your “Nature of Business” (see image below).
Opting-In
How can I opt-in?
All you need to do is to complete this form by 24 January 2025.
⚠️With effect from the Year of Assessment (YA) 2023, IRAS has replaced the annual opt-in exercise with a one-time opt-in approach.

I opted-in last year, do I need to opt-in again this year?
No, you will not need to opt-in again for the current year under the one-time opt-in approach with effect from YA 2023.
If I am opted out this year, do I remain opted out next year?
Yes, you will remain opt out unless you complete the consent form to opt in to the pre-filling of income initiative.
Year of Assessment (YA) | Period of earnings relevant to the YA | Actions required |
