The season for spooky calls, and we’re answering. Book a Gojek to The Projector, or get home safe and curl in with your loved one – here’s this year’s list of recommended horror titles straight from the Gojek team, to you. Psst: these aren’t movies about cults, just some of the most iconic films of all time.
A spy returns home to find his wife asking for a divorce and their son neglected. What initially appears to be a case of infidelity spirals into a plot more brutal and bizarre. Psst: best costumes during the 28 October screening of Possession at The Projector will get to win a $50 gift card.
Scooby-Doo (2002)
The jaded meddling kids of Mystery, Inc. reunite on a resort island to find out why visiting tourists are getting cursed. The resort’s owner is played by Rowan Atkinson. It’s weird, it’s campy, it’s oh-so-goofy – you’ll want to hate this iconic film, but you can’t.
The Love Witch
A project 7 years in the making, The Love Witch is a – ahem, bewitching – film that sees modern-day Elaine seduce men with her many spells and potions. The result is a visually gorgeous, deliberately maximalist tale the likes of technicolor films from old Hollywood.
Carrie (2013)
This adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie takes the protagonist – a telekinetic high school student – into the world today, where she is harassed Online™ and via digital means by her schoolmates. TW: lots of blood, including menstrual blood, pig blood, and general bleeding.
