The best of Singapore: where to play, eat, and shop in the city
28 Nov 2025

Ah, Singapore – the tiny city state that has all you want and need. Whether this is your first time here, or if you’re coming back again after some time away, not to worry! We’ve got recommendations for where to go, what to eat, and places to shop across the island – including the unique, less-touristy spots.

As always, Gojek gets you there easily, and for less. Scroll down below for a list of promo codes to get you going and saving on rides!

Lau Pa Sat

Where: 18 Raffles Quay

This 130-year-old Victorian-style structure sits in the heart of the CBD, but it’s not just a pretty looking thing. The hawker center also boasts over 80 tenants across all sorts of cuisines, including ones selling Michelin-mentioned dishes and local faves like satay. After a hearty meal, don’t forget to stop by Food Folks – the food market’s retail shop for uniquely-Singaporean souvenirs you can take home.

Kucina Italian Restaurant

Where: KINEX, 11 Tanjong Katong Road

Singapore’s first authentic halal Italian restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Gero DiMaria, who is a Muslim man of Italian descent – so you know your food is in good hands. Bestsellers include the Agnello: a lamb shank served with mashed potato and citrusy green sauce; and our personal favorite: La Barca, an indulgent boat-shaped pizza with various cheeses, truffle pate, and mushroom. Make sure to wash it all down with a serving of non-alcoholic tiramisu – you deserve it.

Springleaf Prata Place

WhereVarious outlets

Springleaf Prata Place is synonymous with good prata (Indian flatbread traditionally served with curry or dal) in Singapore – with tried-and-true classic offerings like plain, egg, and cheese. But this is also the place to go for adventurous foodies; few places in the city offer more exotic fillings such as Prata Alfredo, with smoked chicken, mushrooms, cheese and alfredo sauce. If you’re looking for something more local, go for the Salted Egg Prawn Prata, which is inspired by the classic zi char (Singaporean Chinese home-style cooking) dish.

Wooly’s Bagels

Where: 27 Arab Street

There’s no need to go to New York City for this one. A short walk away from the Haji Lane is Wooly’s Bagels – a famous bagel joint serving sandwiches with its signature chewy bread. Our top picks include the GTF Bagel, which comes stuffed with chicken ham, scrambled eggs, and truffle mayo; Strawberry Matcha Latte; and its crispy fries that come with a generous dusting of chicken salt. Yum.

Haji Lane

Where: Haji Lane

Haji Lane’s the place to be if you’re looking to spruce up your outfits, beyond the utilitarian Uniqlo co-ords. The stretch has everything from thrift shops to curated vintage and indie-brand boutiques, all of them nestled in a highly-photogenic street with colorful murals, vibey bars, and cozy cafés. If you get tired mid-way, take a break in one of the many self-portrait studios with a friend to preserve those SG trip memories in cute 4-cut strips.

IMM Outlet Mall

Where: 2 Jurong East Street 21

Bargain prices from bougie brands? Yes, please. This outlet mall in the west has more than 100 stores offering discounts of up to 80% from brands like Adidas, Coach, Fossil, Timberland, and more. Satisfaction 100% guaranteed.

Katong Square Lifestyle & Vintage Market

Where: 88 East Coast Road

Twice a month, the good folks at The Retro Factory will set up shop at Katong Square, bringing to life a vintage flea market filled with curated records, collectibles, pop-culture ephemera, art, retro fashion, watches, and more. You won’t be getting the same souvenirs as many travellers visiting Singapore, and it’s a good excuse to spend your day in the charming Joo Chiat area.

Design Orchard

Where: 250 Orchard Road

Design Orchard is an incubator and retail space that puts the spotlight on Singapore’s up-and-coming designers. If fashion isn’t your thing, it’s also got candles, beauty brands, jewelry, watches, and even baby apparel. You can also people-watch on its rooftop amphitheatre. We’d say these all make Design Orchard a must-go when you’re on Singapore’s most famous shopping street.

Singapore Botanic Gardens

Where: 1 Cluny Road

A stone’s throw away from Orchard sits Singapore Botanic Gardens – the city’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the only tropical garden in the world in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Aside from its lush gardens, Swan Lake, and iconic gazebo, there’s lots to see – including a National Orchid Garden and occasional music performances on its Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage. MINT Museum of Toys

Where: 26 Seah Street

MINT Museum of Toys is the largest vintage toy museum in Asia, with a whopping 50,000-strong collection of old school action figures, comics, enamel signs, pop-culture paraphernalia, board games, and more. This one’s definitely for the Gen X and millennial homeowners – we’d recommend buying a tin toy or unique doll from the souvenir shop to display proudly on your shelf.

Singapore Oceanarium

Where: 24 Sentosa Gateway

The former S.E.A. Aquarium has expanded into the all-new Singapore Oceanarium, which includes 22 immersive zones and over 100,000 marine animals. Learn about ancient sea creatures from the dawn of time, dip your hands in discovery pools, and see how climate change will reshape the oceans as we know it today. Tip: take your time to see it all – we’d recommend at least half a day of exploration here!

National Gallery Singapore

Where: 1 St. Andrew’s Road

Spend an afternoon at the National Gallery as you admire Southeast Asian art from the 19th Century, paintings from celebrated Indonesian artist Basoeki Abdullah, along with impressionist works from the likes of Claude Monét and Edgar Degas. The best part is where these paintings are displayed; the National Gallery is made up of two historical landmarks – the former Supreme Court and City Hall buildings, encased in a palatial complex right in the heart of the civic district.

Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay

Where: 18 Marina Gardens Drive

The annual yuletide celebration returns with even more beautiful light displays, along with a flying Santa, his singing reindeer, and the iconic Spalleria (Italian backdrop structures). Your camera and TikTok/Instagram feed will thank you.

Festive WILD-erland 2025

Where: Mandai Wildlife Reserve

Join Santa’s Adventure Quest to find hidden tokens and prizes along the Forest Treks in Rainforest Wild ASIA, see deer, tortoises, and bears feast on seasonal Xmas treats, and don’t forget to pick up a zoological log cake in Bird Paradise. Pro-tip: the Destination Pass gets you entrance to the attractions at up to 32% off.

Wicked: For Good

Where: Resorts World Sentosa

This Christmas, ditch the red and follow the literal Yellow Brick Road at Sentosa’s Sensoryscape – right to Emerald City at Resorts World Sentosa, before seeing all things Oz in Universal Studios Singapore. Besides getting a chance to see The Wizard, Glinda, and Elphaba, you’d also get to see film costume replicas, and wicked food all across the park.

Tanglin Mall

Where: 163 Tanglin Road

If you and the kiddos are stuck in the tropics this holiday, here’s where to go for a little whimsy. Tanglin Mall’s iconic snowfall returns this year, from 7.30PM daily. Have the family experience all the magic in a delightful cottagecore village complete with garden gnomes, and make sure to take advantage of all the seasonal discounts and savings as you shop for Christmas presents in the mall.
