On the morning of February 23, 2021, Gojek supported the COVID-19 vaccination drive for active private-hire and taxi drivers, which was graced by Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Transport. Some 300 drivers attended the event and received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine. Lien Choong Luen, general manager of Gojek Singapore, was also present at the former Hong Kah Secondary School – the venue of the vaccination drive – and took the first dose of the vaccine.
This event marks the start of the vaccination drive for the tens of thousands of active taxi and private-hire drivers in Singapore, to strengthen the resilience of the country’s essential transport services.
Mr Lien says: “Our driver-partners are frontline heroes who have been keeping the nation on the move. Vaccination is an important layer of protection on top of safe management measures – such as masks and regular sanitization – which will give riders even greater peace of mind. We will actively encourage driver-partners to take up the vaccination when their turn comes, so that they can keep themselves, their families and their riders safe.”
