GoCar XL is scheduled to go live in Singapore on 22 November 2021

SINGAPORE 16 November 2021: Gojek has today announced the scheduled launch of GoCar XL in Singapore, its new service type for larger, 6-seater vehicles.

The service, which will be available to all users on Monday 22 November, from 2pm onwards, builds on Gojek’s commitment to strengthening its suite of offerings, providing both immediate and long-term improvements to driver-partner and rider experiences in Singapore.

Lien Choong Luen, General Manager of Gojek Singapore, said, “Bigger isn’t always better but the launch of GoCar XL will provide riders with even more choice, allowing larger groups (subject to the latest Covid-19 advisory) and passengers with groceries, luggage, or wheelchairs, to travel safely and conveniently. Additionally, driver-partners with a 6-seater vehicle can enjoy increased earnings opportunities on top of existing GoCar incentives, helping them take home more earnings per trip.”

He added, “Our ongoing focus remains on enhancing ride-hailing services in Singapore, and users can expect more exciting things to come as we continue to find new ways to keep Singapore moving.”

Bigger cars, bigger earnings, better experiences:

With higher fares available (ranging from 30-60% higher than GoCar) driver-partners can enjoy increased earnings with GoCar XL, in addition to being eligible for the same GoCar incentives. Platform fees for consumers and services fees for drivers will remain unchanged, in line with GoCar, at $0.70 and 10% respectively. Driver-partners can also receive up to $1,500 in rental rebates on select vehicles rented through GoFleet, including 6-seaters, on top of existing GoFleet benefits, such as immediate upgrade of their GoalBetter tier from Classic to Premium and a monthly earnings safety net.

With GoCar XL, Gojek riders will be able to enjoy more choices when commuting. Riders can also look forward to a better and more reliable experience through greater ride availability and improved wait times, as more driver-partners join the platform.

The launch of GoCar XL comes on the back of other recent enhancements to the Gojek platform in Singapore including the launch of GoCorp, a holistic mobility offering helping companies manage the transport needs of their employees, the targeted roll out and testing of GoCar Passes - with surge-protect benefits - and the new ‘Edit Pick-Up’ feature which allows riders to change their pick-up location after being matched with a driver.

GoCar XL will be available to Gojek riders on app version 4.32 onwards and driver partners on app 1.15.3 onwards. Consumers and drivers will have to update their apps to the latest version to access the GoCar XL service on 22nd November, from 2pm onwards.
